Remember ‘Back to the Future Part II’? Okay, great. Now, remember its fake product placement of “All I want is a Pepsi!” fame? Cool. To celebrate Back to the Future Day (October 21, 2015: the day Doc and Marty visit in the future), we made Pepsi Perfect a reality for BTTF’s loyal, rabid fandom.
We wove a conspiracy worthy of those fans with ‘stolen’ factory footage, ‘leaked’ patents, fake commercials at 3am and mysterious wild postings across the country, fueling speculation and culminating in a surprise launch at New York Comic Con on Back to the Future Day itself.This campaign was an ode to all those details, and how the difference they make can be big.
